In the Biography of ‘Aisha bint Ibrahim b. Sideeq (died 741H) – the Shaykha, the Virtuous, the Scholar, the Worshipper, wife of al-Haafiz al-Mizzi – (may Allah shower her with Mercy):

Imam Ibn Kathir (who was married to her daughter) said:

“She had no equal among the women of her time, with her frequent worship, recitation and passing on of the Noble Quran with fluency, eloquence, and correct recitation, [to a level] which many of the men were incapable of achieving.

Many women completed [the memorization of] the Quran with her, and many recited the Quran to her and benefitted [greatly] from her, her righteousness, and Zuhd in this worldly-life and her sufficing with the very little from it throughout her extensive life which reached 80 years, in which she spent it in the obedience of her Lord in Prayers and Recitation.

The Shaykh (i.e. al-Mizzi) was very courteous and obedient to her, and he did not go against any of her wishes out of the great love he had for her [both] naturally and religiously.

So may Allah –the Exalted- have Mercy on her”[1][2].
